The Livestock Care Conference is an annual event showcasing speakers from Canada and around the world. The conference centers around promoting responsible, humane animal care and continual improvement in Alberta's livestock production systems.

This year’s producer workshop is all about sheep!

Between 10 am and 12 pm on March 22:
•    Nationally recognized stockmanship instructor, Curt Pate, will give a demonstration of low-stress handling techniques for sheep.
•    Experienced sheep producer and 'Shepherding 101' instructor, Lorna Gibson, will give a workshop on body condition scoring sheep.

This is an unique opportunity for sheep producers to learn effective handling techniques and the basics of body condition scoring!

The demonstration will be held at the South Arena of the Olds College Campus on March 22, 2016.

The remainder of the conference will be held at the Pomeroy Inn and Suites in Olds.  Full details and a speaker agenda are available from AFAC (www.afac.ab.ca, info@afac.ab.ca, 403-652-5111).

Registration for the entire conference is $180 (general), or $25 to attend only the handling demonstration.
