Lamb's Down Park Festival All Day Event

Lamb's Down Park Festival
June 20, 2015
“Ewe” don’t want to miss this Annual event!

Don’t be sheepish about coming to help Carleton Place celebrate its important historical role in the distribution of lambs’ wool across Canada.

The Carleton Place Business Improvement Association and Canadian Co-operative Wool Growers Limited invite you to amble on over to the Wool Growers building in downtown Carleton Place, 142 Franktown Road on Saturday, June 20 between 10 am and 4 pm.

CCWG grades and markets close to 3 million pounds of raw sheep wool each year which makes fibre the main focus of this outdoor heritage festival.

It features activities such as sheep and lamb demonstrations, sheep shearing, sheep dog demos, spinning, weaving displays, a petting zoo, games, tours and a giant sidewalk sale at the Real Wool Shop.

Unique Lanark County local flavour food vendors and restaurants will be on site to tempt your palate with the creation of fabulous lamb dishes and more!

The location for the event adds to its rich heritage, since the Wool Growers are housed in what was originally the round house and machine shops for the Canadian Pacific Railway, which played an integral role in Carleton Place’s past.
