Developed in England, the British Suffolk is one of the oldest native British breeds, dating back to the late 1700’s. Recognized worldwide for its distinctive black face and legs, the British Suffolk is primarily a terminal sire breed known for producing fast-growing, heavy-muscled lambs with excellent carcass quality. The breed performs well under a variety of Canadian production systems and is valued for transmitting growth, structural soundness, and carcass traits to crossbred lambs.

Développé en Angleterre à la fin des années 1700, le Suffolk britannique est l’une des plus anciennes races indigènes britanniques. Reconnu pour sa face et ses pattes noires distinctives, le Suffolk britannique est principalement utilisé comme race terminale. Il est apprécié pour produire des agneaux à croissance rapide, bien musclés et offrant une excellente qualité de carcasse. Il s’adapte bien aux différents systèmes de production canadiens et transmet efficacement ses qualités de croissance, de conformation et de solidité structurale aux agneaux croisés.
